Why bother?

The pandemic and a company collapse have given me more time to focus on things that have been going around and around in my head for some time, so now seemed like a good time to cast off the shackles and put pen to paper or rather fingers (just the two) to keyboard.

After a career in materials research and development, I trained as an aromatherapist at the Northern School of Aromatherapy in the early 90s. Like many others at the time, I anticipated a future as a professional complementary therapist but fate had other ideas. Quite by chance my, perhaps, unusual mix of aromatherapy and chemistry seemed right for the time and I was invited to teach on an aromatherapy diploma course. Previous to this my only teaching experience had been potty training my son and daughter! Word spread and I was soon supporting a number of private aromatherapy schools, providing the chemistry that underpinned the rest of the training.

You can read a bit more on the About Me page.

So back to ‘Why bother?’ The reason for the website is that I feel I still have much to offer and the reason for the blog is that there are things I want to say.
